Extracurricular Activities

Music Lessons
Students interested in taking piano, voice, or instrument lessons may sign up to do so at any time during the school year. A small fee will be charged for music lessons. This fee is paid directly to the instructor. Lessons are given individually, one time per week, and the students are required to participate in an annual recital. All students, who attend the before and after school day care program, are eligible to participate in Music Lessons, but spaces are limited. Music lessons are given during the non-school hours.

Karate Classes
Students interested in taking karate classes may sign up to do so at any time during the school year. These classes are offered independently by Huntzinger’s Karate School.  Visit www.huntzingerkarate.com or call (570) 826-3020 for more information.

Field Hockey
The Field Hockey team is a sport offered for girls at Wilkes-Barre Academy during the field hockey season. Practices and games are held during the after school hours. Membership to this team is limited to girls in fourth through eighth grades.  Visit www.wyomingvalleysportsdome.com.

Basketball
Basketball is a coed sport offered at Wilkes-Barre Academy during the basketball season. Practices and games are held during the after school hours. Membership to these teams are limited to students in the third through eighth grade.
