Read Across America, organized by the National Education Association, is celebrated annually in March honoring Dr. Seuss's birthday by promoting reading and literacy among children across the nation. This dynamic, student-driven initiative not only brings stories to life, but also cultivates responsibility, creativity, and confidence in our older students. At the same time, it sparks curiosity and excitement in our younger learners, fostering a shared love of reading that unites our entire school community.

Each year, Read Across America becomes more than a celebration of books at Wilkes-Barre Academy, it becomes a powerful leadership experience. Our middle school students take the lead, collaborating to design and deliver imaginative, interactive activities inspired by a book of their choice for younger students to enjoy.
