Wilkes-Barre Academy Glee Club

The Wilkes-Barre Academy Glee Club is an SC-MS-A-C accredited show choir available to middle school students. The Glee Club was founded in 2015 and has been very active ever since. The Glee Club sings The National Anthem annually at both the W-B/Scranton Penguins Hockey and W-B/Scranton Railriders Baseball, performing intermission or pregame songs as well. The Glee Club participates in multiple community events such as the Wilkes-Barre St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Fine Arts Fiesta and have appeared on PA LIVE. Learning professional choreography, two-part harmony, reading music, and working together as a team drives results during the end of the year choir competition, Music in the Parks held at Dorney Park. The ten competitions the WBA Glee Club participated in resulted in ten first place middle school show choir titles, four Espirit de Corps awards, four student accompanist awards and two vocal

solo awards. The WBA Glee Club is an after-school activity that provides students with more than just an

extended music education, but self-confidence, teamwork, and the sense of community.
